Chapter 25: Meeting Gu Shuyao Again.

Edited by: Mochiusagi

Unknowingly, a week passed.

It was still a little before six o'clock in the morning when Yin Xiu, who had been meditating all night, stopped and walked out onto the balcony.

This period of time where he's working felt very fulfilling. But for some reason today, he suddenly wanted to go to Yinhai University.

About ten minutes later, Yin Xiu arrived at the cedar tree in Yinhai University.

His fingers gently brushed against the marks his younger self had left on the tree, and suddenly began to miss the past. The urge  to find his family grew stronger and stronger.

"Alas..."

Yin Xiu let out a light sigh. "Dozens of years have already passed, it is even unknown whether my younger brother is still alive or not. Even if I want to find them, how do I find them when there isn't even a single clue due to how long the time has passed?"

Yin Xiu's heart dimmed.

The modern household registration and ID card system was established only after the new era, so even if the country itself wants to find out the descendants of an ordinary person 80 years ago, it is impossible.

Not to mention Yin Xiu.

Even though Yin Xiu was at peak Xiantian, there was nothing he could do about it. The most important thing was that he himself was not sure whether his brother even had descendants to begin with...

"Yin Xiu?"

At this moment, a voice suddenly sounded from behind.

Yin Xiu recovered his mood and turned around with a faint smile on his face. He already knew who the bearer of the voice was.

"Shuyao, good morning."

Gu Shuyao nodded to Yin Xiu. "Good morning!"

"Why did you suddenly come here again today?" Gu Shuyao looked at Yin Xiu and asked. She hasn't met Yin Xiu again after that day, so she was surprised to see Yin Xiu suddenly appearing here today.

"Ha ha..."

Yin Xiu chuckled: "You have been practicing Qigong recently, right?"

(Qigong - a Chinese system of physical exercises and breathing control related to tai chi.)

Gu Shuyao glanced at him and nodded: "Yeah, it's not bad. Thank you for teaching me the method. These days when I practice, I am able to do it much faster than before. If this continues, maybe in about two to three months, I'll be able to enter the Bone Refinement Stage."

Yin Xiu also started from the most basic martial arts training back then, so he naturally knows what the so-called Bone Refinement Stage is, which is a minor stage in one of the two major stages of Martial arts.

Martial arts training is divided into two major stages. The first stage is external training which trains the flesh and skin (1st minor stage), bones (2nd), and the marrow (3rd).

Only after completing this first major stage that focuses on tempering the body, can a martial artist break through and step into the second major stage, 'Qi Gathering'.

Gu Shuyao right now was tempering her bones, aka the Bone Refinement Stage. For ordinary martial artists, being able to reach the Bone Refinement Stage was already very good.

As long as the Bone Refinement Stage was completed, the martial artist's body will become very strong and tough. Even if ordinary blunt weapons hit his/her body heavily, as long as the strength behind the strike isn't too great, his/her bones wouldn't break or fracture.

Yin Xiu finished the Bone Refinement Stage when he was thirteen years old. After that, it took him another year to completely refine his marrow and enter the Qi Gathering Stage.

From this point of view, Gu Shuyao and Yin Xiu were naturally incomparable in speed.

But for 'ordinary' martial artists, being able to reach Bone Refinement Stage at the age of twenty was already very remarkable. As long as one perseveres, he/she has a great chance in entering the Qi Gathering Stage.

For martial artists, the Qi Gathering Stage was a huge turning point. The reason? The great leap in strength. Martial artists in the Qi Gathering Stage can condense True Qi in his/her body. The power that True Qi brings to the table was far more than what mere physical strength can contend.

"Very good. You can do it! I believe you will be able to break through to the Qi Gathering Stage in a short time..." Yin Xiu praised.

"I hope so."

After speaking, Gu Shuyao looked at Yin Xiu and asked, "Yin Xiu, your strength should be very strong, right? Can you tell me what stage you are currently in? I heard from Qi Gathering Stage Martial Artists that above them is a higher level innate realm."

"The Qi Gathering Stage is divided into acquired and innate. In general, the innate realm is the initial stage of Qi Gathering to a higher level. At this level, True Qi will gradually begin to transform and become more condensed, making it more powerful and stronger."

"As for my current strength... My answer is the same as what I told you that day. There is probably no one in this world that's stronger than me." Yin Xiu said flatly.

Obviously, Gu Shuyao only believed the first half of Yin Xiu's sentence. She only curled her lips and wrinkled her nose in the second half, saying, "Hey, there you go again. Even if you are very strong, you are still only slightly older than me and yet you dare say that no one is stronger than you in this world? Braggart! Ah, just forget it." Gu Shuyao would never have thought that Yin Xiu was not in his early twenties as his looks imply, and was actually over a hundred years old.

If she knew that Yin Xiu was over a hundred years old, maybe she would believe what Yin Xiu said. Unfortunately, she didn't know. Even if Yin Xiu told her, I'm afraid she would only treat it as Yin Xiu bragging, and it would be impossible that she'll believe it.

Unless... Yin Xiu used some of his spells in front of her, or took out something like his flying sword.

Of course Yin Xiu wouldn't actually do that. He just shrugged and did not explain to erase Gu Shuyao's doubts.

At this moment, Gu Shuyao suddenly said: "Give me your phone."

"What?" Yin Xiu was surprised. But he still took the phone out of his pocket.

After Ji Xueqing bought this phone that day and gave it to him, although Yin Xiu only has Ji Xueqing and a few female colleague's numbers in his phone book, he always carries it with him.

Gu Shuyao did not explain and just took the phone from Yin Xiu, she then quickly turned on the screen and entered a number.

"This is my number, you can save it in your phone book later." After Gu Shuyao dialed the number, she immediately hung up and returned the phone to Yin Xiu.

"Oh, okay." Yin Xiu now understood Gu Shuyao's intention in asking him for his phone.

"Last time I forgot to ask for your number, and I haven't met you in the past few days..." Gu Shuyao said.

Yin Xiu said, "I haven't been to your school these days, so naturally you won't be able to meet me."

"Un."

"Well, I'll practice and do some exercises. Would you like to watch and give me some pointers?" Gu Shuyao took the chance.

She was sure that Yin Xiu's strength surpasses her by a lot, so getting more pointers from him would be great. Plus she felt the 'sweetness' still lingering from the last time Yin Xiu had previously taught her.

Yin Xiu was fine with it. He smiled and replied: "Okay. You perform the exercises first and I'll observe."

"Yes!"

Gu Shuyao nodded. She couldn't help but feel a little happy in her heart. She walked to the side and stood still. After taking a deep breath, she immediately began to practice martial art exercises...

Yin Xiu recognised Gu Shuyao's starting pose, 'Bagua Palm'.

The Bagua Palm, together with Tai Chi and Xing Yi Quan, are called the three major internal martial arts.

Gu Shuyao's attainments in Bagua Palm were extremely profound, her movements were vigorous and agile, she was very flexible.

She practiced according to Yin Xiu's instructions that day. She took a wisp of dantian breath and used her inner strength, making her body's aura turn completely different. She was like a hibernating tiger, with a hidden overbearing power.
