Chapter 40: Dragon Soul Special Brigade.

Edited by: Mochiusagi

Yin Xiu placed his palms on Zhou Ting's shoulder, on top of the gunshot wound. Yin Xiu's palm then sent out some kind of force and attracted the deformed bullet out of the wound.

The wounds on Zhou Ting's body had also stopped bleeding.

After bandaging the wounds, Yin Xiu picked up Zhou Ting’s clothes that were already tattered, and prepared to use a dust removal spell to clean them up and redress Zhou Ting in her clothes again since Yin Xiu has no other clothes for her here.

But when Yin Xiu picked up her clothes, he suddenly saw a booklet fall out from a pocket.

Back when Yin Xiu used spiritual sense to investigate the material of the clothes, he didn't really pay attention to what was in the pocket. So when he saw the booklet fall out at this time, he couldn't help picking it up and taking a look inside.

"Dragon Soul Special Brigade?"

In addition to the Chinese National Emblem printed on the front of the booklet, there were also the words 'Dragon Soul Special Brigade'. Special Brigade... Yin Xiu had some understanding of it, but he has no clue about the "Dragon Soul" part.

Yin Xiu opened the booklet.

There were photos of Zhou Ting and some basic information about her in the booklet. The photo was stamped with the steel seal of the National Emblem, there were another two characters (in Chinese) "Dragon Soul" there and a steel stamp in the shape of a Chinese dragon on the other side of the photo.

"Zhou Ting, the deputy captain of the 2nd Squad, Dragon Soul Special Brigade. Special Operations Group of the National Security Agency..."

Yin Xiu read the information in the booklet and looked at Zhou Ting floating in the air with some surprise. Unexpectedly, the woman he rescued was actually a member of the Chinese National Security Agency.

At this moment Yin Xiu was a little curious about this so-called 'Dragon Soul Special Brigade'.

This Zhou Ting is a real martial artist. Based on the strength system in this world, she should be considered relatively powerful at her age; she's her twenties.

Compared to Gu Shuyao and Gu Shuyao's childhood friend that Yin Xiu had met at the beginning, she was much better. Zhou Ting's cultivation has already reached the Qi Gathering stage!

Although she was a few years older than Gu Shuyao and Gu Shuyao's childhood friend, since she can cultivate to the Qi Gathering stage while she is in her twenties, she is pretty talented.

"This Dragon Soul Special Brigade has martial artists, but I don't know how many there are. If the strength of the martial artists in it are able to reach the Qi Gathering stage, then the strength of this Dragon Soul Special Brigade is very extraordinary in this world."

Yin Xiu mumbled faintly, holding Zhou Ting's booklet between two fingers.

He closed the booklet and put it back in the clothes' pocket. Yin Xiu then put the clothes on her.

When dressing Zhou Ting, it inevitably touched her wounds. Even though Zhou Ting was still asleep, she  nonetheless frowned and let out a few low moans...

After that's done, Yin Xiu carried her to the bed and then covered her with a thin blanket.

Although Yin Xiu has a spirit pill that can restore her injuries in an instant, there was no need to use it. Plus explaining it when she wakes up would be hard and troublesome.

Anyway, she was just in a shock, and she would be fine after resting for a few days.

He closed the door and walked back to the living room. Yin Xiu looked at the small box beside him, and put it beside the TV cabinet. He also took out the long sword he put into the storage ring before and put it together with the box.

It was already late at night, and Yin Xiu sat on the sofa to meditate while Xiaoman slept next to him.

Xiaoman is a top-level spirit beast, and doesn't need to deliberately cultivate before he reaches adulthood. His strength gradually increases as he grows, and only after he reaches adulthood does he need to practice demon cultivation techniques.

Moreover, Xiaoman’s wisdom is currently only equivalent to that  of a five or six-year-old child, and can't understand what a demon cultivation technique is.

The sky was getting brighter, and Yin Xiu finally opened his eyes after meditating all night. He glanced at the wall clock, it was exactly six o'clock.

His spiritual sense swept into the room to check on Zhou Ting, who was laying on the bed. She was still sleeping. With so many wounds and so much blood loss, she wouldn't wake up so early.

It was still early, so Yin Xiu went out and bought some breakfast. But it wasn't for him to eat, but for Zhou Ting.

He had to go to work later, and since Zhou Ting would only wake up later, he prepared something for her in advance.

It's good that when she wakes up, she has something to eat. After all, her injuries would make it hard to move for two to three days and to get food for herself.

"Xiaoman, guard that thing well. Don’t let others steal it. If the sister in the room wakes up and looks for it, you can give it to her. Also, if she wants to leave, you don't have to stop her..."

Before going to work, Yin Xiu said a few words to Xiaoman.

Although it was indeed inconvenient to move because of her injury, if she is really determined to leave, she can do it.

Just that forcefully doing so would reopen her wounds, and she would suffer.

Xiaoman squeaked at Yin Xiu, nodding his head repeatedly.

Yin Xiu rubbed Xiaoman's head with a smile, and then got up to go to work.

The bright sun shone in from the window sill, it was already ten o'clock in the morning.

The sleeping Zhou Ting faintly felt some tingling in her eyes. Her eyelids and eyelashes trembled a few times, before her eyes slowly opened.

Zhou Ting, who had just woken up, was still in a trance and had not yet fully awakened. But this time she obviously slept very comfortably, with a somewhat confused and lazy expression on her face.

After about three or four seconds of silence, Zhou Ting seemed to realize something and sat straight up from the bed. The excessive movement obviously irritated her wounds, causing her to frown in pain.

However, she didn't care about the pain in her body. Instead, she hurriedly looked around flustered and was on full alert.

"Where is this? Why am I here?"

Zhou Ting was relieved to see that there was no one else in the room. But  questions immediately surfaced in her heart.

"Last night..."

Zhou Ting suddenly recalled what happened last night and her eyes widened. She quickly looked around again.

"Could it be that the person who showed up last night saved me? Is this where he lives?"

"Right! Where is the box? Where did the box go?" When she thought of the box, Zhou Ting immediately endured the pain she's feeling and got off the bed quickly, looking around the room anxiously.

"Where's the box? Did he take it away?"

Zhou Ting was very anxious. Her comrades paid with their lives just to secure the box. She could not lose it, she must take it back!

As Zhou Ting was looking around the room in a hurry, the door of the room was suddenly pushed open.

Zhou Ting, who was about to dig through the cabinet to find the box, was slightly startled, and subconsciously raised her head and looked towards the door. But she didn't see any figure and was stunned.

At this time, a squeak suddenly sounded from the half-opened door.

Zhou Ting lowered her head slightly, following the direction of the sound, and stared at what she saw.

There was a look of astonishment on her face while she stared blankly at the little thing standing in the doorway. 'It' had its small paw on the door and was looking up at her...
